Gdansk
Gdańsk, situated on the Gulf of Gdańsk, is the largest city by area in Poland and the capital of the Pomeranian Voivodeship. Home to about 487,834 residents, it ranks as the sixth largest city in the country. Together with Gdynia and Sopot, it forms the Tricity. The city boasts a rich history spanning over a thousand years, once being the wealthiest city of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. It is renowned for the international Amberif amber fairs. It's best visited in summer when temperatures are pleasant and cultural attractions are in full swing.
