Loved the comfortable lounge chairs and easy seating dotted around departure lounge that are usually reserved for club class lounge. Good experience this time speedy security and boarding whilst feeling safe. Bit of a mess outside loading and unloading of passengers but still managed immediate hotel pick up- I smashed this trip!

Started with photo and passport checks that also included my hand prints and fingers and thumbs now all recorded on USA security systems. Not to sure how I feel about that but it meant that the return trip was easier. Outward bound I arrived on Thanksgiving holiday day and with an 11 hour stopover and nothing open. It was quite gruelling but on the up side it was quiet so I slept propped against a wall for most of the time. Return trip as the stopover was almost as long, I booked into the UA lounge and spent my time there. With food and drinks available all day and comfortable chairs to snooze in it was much better than the first time. It is quite a walk from the arrivals area to the departure area and I had to walk there with all my luggage for my connecting flight. The security check this time was as thorough as you would expect from anywhere these days and it's my advice that you just do what is asked without a fuss as arguing just causes delays. (As the person in front of me found out!). The staff at the airport were helpful and patient and there was only a slight delay in the flight.

Very efficient automated system to cross-check passport, inound flight and real time photo. Then queue for an hour and half to get some twit to put an ink stamp in my passport. Pathetic. Unhelpful staff, the place is a dump - dirty, half built, poor information and generally unwelcoming. Probably the worst airport I ever visited, which includes Ho Chi Minh City, Bangkok, Manilla, Hong Kong (Kai Tak), Taipei, Frankfurt, Basel, Strasbourg, Heathrow (all terminals), Southampton, Gatwick, London City, Edinburgh, Aldergrove, Cork, Reno, Denver, Las Vegas, Gloucester, Copenhagen, Madrid, Charles de Gaul, Alicante to name a few.

Had to wait for quite a while for someone to push a wheelchair. But I found the wheelchair area fairly quickly. Once at the gait area passengers (not disabled) had the handicap seats loaded with their luggage.
