Egypt, officially known as the Arab Republic of Egypt, is located in northeastern Africa and extends into Asia on the Sinai Peninsula. It shares borders with Israel, Palestine, Sudan, and Libya, while its coastline stretches along both the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea. Home to over 100 million people, Egypt is predominantly Arabic-speaking. Highlights include Cairo with the iconic Pyramids of Giza, Alexandria, and Luxor with the Valley of the Kings. The climate is hot and dry; spring and autumn are the best times to visit, when temperatures are milder.
