Corfu Town
Corfu, known as Kerkyra, is a mountainous island in the northern Ionian Sea, close to the coast of Albania. It forms part of the Ionian Islands region, and its capital is the town of the same name. The island has a rich history reaching back to antiquity, when it was colonised by Corinth. The Temple of Artemis, an example of Doric architecture, is well worth a visit. Its Mediterranean climate favours travel from spring to autumn, with temperatures between 20 and 30 °C.
