Kosice
Košice is the second-largest city in Slovakia, situated in the Košice Basin along the Hornád River. It is surrounded by the Tokaj-Slanec and Volovec Mountains. Home to nearly 240,000 residents, the city serves as the cultural and educational hub of the eastern part of the country. Košice was awarded the title of European Capital of Culture in 2013. The climate is continental, with cold winters (−3 °C) and warm summers (19 °C). Spring and summer are the best times to visit, as the weather is ideal for exploring the city's charms.
