    Düsseldorf
Düsseldorf is the capital of North Rhine-Westphalia, set on the Rhine. It is part of the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region, home to around 10-12 million people. The city itself has around 620 thousand inhabitants, making it the seventh largest in Germany. It is known for its economic strength and for hosting the headquarters of many corporations. Winter temperatures are moderate and summers are fairly warm, which makes spring and autumn the best times to visit. The old town is worth seeing, as is a glass of the local Altbier.
