Laudamotion Airlines is a low-cost Austrian carrier and its history is quite long. The airlines were founded in 2003 as Niki; one of the cofounders was the former Formula 1 champion Niki Lauda. A year later, the carrier began cooperation with Air Berlin, and in 2011 both airlines merged. Unfortunately, in December of 2017 Niki suspended business activities. In January 2018, Niki Lauda repurchased the insolvent airlines from Air Belin and resumed operations a few months later under the current name Laudamotion. Importantly, at present 100% of the airline’s shares is owned by Ryanair. The carrier is looking to dynamic growth in the following years – it directs its offer to those traveling mainly in Southern Europe, and the competitive price of Laudamotion’s air tickets is one of many advantages of the airline.
The IATA Laudamotion code is OE. The seat of the carrier is located in Vienna. Laudamotion online check-in is free and available to most travellers. Check-in at the airport is also possible.
Laudamotion flights are mainly offered in Southern Europe. At the beginning, airlines have launched several flights from Berlin, however these routes are not the only options in the company's offer. Travellers can use many different routes - over 40 destinations in 18 countries. The number of routes is constantly growing. Laudamotion airlines operates routes from Austria, Germany and Switzerland. The countries of destination are, for example, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus and Italy or Great Britain
Laudamotion airlines are becoming more and more popular thanks to attractive promotions. The carrier is well known for its promotions, such as airline tickets for 1 euro. Information on various promotions is available on the Internet, for example on some travel forums, where you can also find Laudamotion reviews. It's also worth following the carrier's social media groups and signing up to the newsletter. This will allow you to get access to information about cheap air tickets to Milan, Ibiza, Barcelona, Vienna and so on. Laudamotion also offers very attractive holiday flights.
The carrier’s baggage policy is defined in the regulations with which all passengers must comply. The low-cost airline offers not just attractive prices of air tickets, but also improvements related to the carriage of baggage. At Laudamotion, hand baggage is 40x25x20 cm and is included in the air ticket price. The bag should be hidden under the seat or in the storage compartment. There must not be any dangerous objects with sharp ends inside, liquids may only be transported in 100 ml containers, and put in a transparent plastic bag. Separate provisions regulate the carriage of baby foods and medicines in the cabin. Guests traveling with an infant can also bring additional carry-on baggage to the cabin. In the case of medical equipment and, for example, wheelchairs, it is obligatory to notify the carrier in order to carry this type of baggage and comply with their decision in this matter. Sports baggage is carried in the hatch for an additional fee.
You will be charged for the remaining baggage and it will be placed in the hold. Baggage registered in Laudamotion is payable. A single Laudamotion checked baggage should have a maximum size of 119x119x81 cm and the weight cannot exceed 20 kg. Optionally, you can buy a small registered baggage at a lower price of 55x40x20 cm of up to 10 kg. The Carrier restricts the right to carry any sensitive and valuable items in checked baggage, as is not responsible for possible damages.
The Laudamotion fleet is very important for the carrier. Airlines want to develop the fleet and buy new Airbus aircraft, as well as use the Ryanair Boeing 737 on a lease basis. The Laudamotion fleet consists of several Airbus A320-200 with 180 seats and A321-200 aircraft with 212 seats. Passengers can enjoy attractive services such as drinks, snacks and entertainment. The design of the Laudamotion aeroplanes is related to red and white. The company decided to renew the logotype.
