Luggage
You can take hand baggage onboard of the SWISS airline’s planes. Its dimensions and weight are determined by airlines and may vary depending on the booking class or route. Registered Luggage in SWISS must also have certain dimensions and weight. Here, too, everything depends on the travel class and route.
Booking classes
In the economy class on intercontinental routes, passengers have access to a library of films, series and games. In the business class on intercontinental routes, passengers receive bags with a set of cosmetics, seats turn into 2-meter beds. Passengers of this class on any route can use of the Star Alliance airport lounges. Luggage is a priority, and at the airport in Zurich a special bus for passengers of this class is waiting for them after they leave the plane. For passengers of the first class separate terminals are prepared to shorten the waiting time at the airport as much as possible. Seats on intercontinental routes are equipped with special headrests, so that the passengers have as much privacy as possible.
Online check-in
Traveling with SWISS airlines, you can do online check-in 23 hours before the scheduled departure or by using the mobile application. The electronic boarding pass can be printed or downloaded to the phone.
Fleet
The fleet of the Swiss carrier consists of 65 aircrafts of type Airbus A319-100, A320-200, A321-100, A321-200, A330-300, A340-300. Their average age is about 10 years.
Zurich-Kloten airport
The international Zurich-Kloten airport is located approx. 10 km from the centre of Zurich. Within the port’s area are cafes, restaurants, bars, shops, including duty-free and car rentals. The airport offers access to wireless internet.
Refreshments
On all European flights, the airline offers a drink service and a snack depending on the time of day. On shorter flights SWISS serves cold snacks, and on longer ones – hot. The onboard sandwiches are prepared in a Swiss bakery. On most flights, passengers are treated pre-landing with Swiss chocolate.
On intercontinental routes, passengers in each class receive at least one hot meal.
Additional services
Children from 5 to 11 years of age can travel alone. The child is provided with the care of the crew from the moment of arrival at the airport to handing over the child to a designated adult person at the destination airport. Depending on the route, the price of the service varies from 40 to 80 EUR.

Departure delay
Because of very late departure ( 50 min) , I was missed my connective train to Freiburg ( Zurich -Freiburg). I’ve jumped to next train, but I was charged for 161 Eur because of invalid train ticket.

Overall good. Just one incident at the Zurich airport before embarking to Manchester flight I find it unacceptable. The staff who was in charge of the control of boarding passes was rude to me. He screened at me : " Dis you not hear what I just told you to do before approaching this check? " Apparently I should have got a paper boarding pass? from his colleague who was checking the passport. I did missed that as I just approached the gate and my passport was already checked and stamped at the frontier control. Staff training would be good idea: they should not be rude!. Thank you.
