AirConnect

Air Connect started operations in August 2022. The airline was established to operate short-haul flights between regional airports in Romania. The connections are operated by ATR 72-600 turboprop aircraft. Due to their design and engine, they are currently the most economical and ecological machines in their class.

Luggage

Air Connect offers 3 categories of luggage:

  • Small hand luggage. Included in all tariffs and packages, with a maximum weight of 6 kg. Accepted dimensions are up to 40cm x 30cm x 20cm
  • Large hand luggage available on Fly Value and Fly Flex Plus fares and packages. The maximum weight and dimensions are 10 kg, respectively 55 cm x 40 cm x 20 cm.
  • Checked baggage. Available on Fly Value and Fly Flex Plus fares and packages, with a maximum weight of 23 kg. Accepted dimensions: 100 cm x 80 cm x 30 cm. Maximum number of checked bags: 4.

Tariff classes

Air Connect offers 4 tariff classes:

  • Fly Light. The lowest available rate and free check-in online or at the airport. The rate includes 1 small hand luggage.
  • Fly Value. Low fare that includes Fly Light benefits plus 1 large carry-on bag and seat selection on the plane (except for preferential seats)
  • Fly Flex. The fare includes the benefits of Fly Light and 1 checked bag, seat selection (including preferential seats depending on availability), priority boarding, free change of reservation* (price difference may apply), sandwich
  • Fly Flex Plus. The fare includes 1 small carry-on bag, 1 large carry-on bag, 1 checked bag, seat selection, free check-in online or at the airport, free change of reservation*, 50% refund in the form of a voucher (50% of the fare basic; airport taxes are reimbursed 100%), sandwich

*for a return ticket with both flight segments booked in Fly Flex or Fly Flex Plus, the passenger will be able to make 2 free changes regardless of the changed flight segment

 

Check-in online and at the airport

At AirConnect, online check-in opens 3 days before the departure date and closes 12 hours before departure. Passengers with checked baggage or passengers who have requested assistance at the airport should arrive there no later than 2 hours before the scheduled departure.

You should be at the airport at least 2 hours before departure. Passengers traveling with hand luggage only should arrive at the airport no later than 90 minutes before departure.

Check-in at the airport opens 2 hours before the departure and closes 40 minutes before departure.

The boarding pass can be printed or in digital format.

Air Connect offers routes to the biggest cities in Romania: Bucharest (Henri Coandă Airport), Cluj (Avram Iancu International Airport), Timisoara (Traian Vuia International Airport), Constanța (Mihail Kogălniceanu International Airport), Oradea (Oradea International Airport), Târgu Mureş (Transylvania Airport), Sibiu (Sibiu International Airport), Baia Mare (Maramureş Airport), Suceava (Ştefan cel Mare Internațional Airport), as well as to Budapest (Liszt Ferenc International Airport).

Fleet

AirConnect has ATR 72-600 turboprop aircrafts, which are designed to serve short-haul flights and there are 44 to 78 seats on board. The machines are lightweight and their engines are designed to maintain optimal speed and fuel economy. As a result, the planes produce only 69g of CO2 per kilometer, and the effect is that the ATR 72-600 ranks first in the ranking of the most environmentally friendly short-haul aircraft. The ATR 72-600 models have between 44-78 seats.
