KLM

The fleet for passenger flights of the Dutch carrier consists of machines of type Airbus A330-200, A330-300, Boeing 737-700, 737-800, 737-900, 747-400, 747-400M, 777-200ER, 777-300ER. Their total number is 110, and average age is 9 years.

It is the biggest airport in the Netherlands and the fourth biggest in Europe. It is situated around 15 km in southern west direction from the Dutch capital. The airport is main base for airlines KLM. On its area there is a hotel Mercury Schiphol, in the main hall and the passenger area there are many bars, restaurants, cafes, in many spots there vending machines with drinks, sweets or snacks. Apart from that, in the general access zone there are stores with different type of products. On the whole airport’s area there is free access to Internet, whereas in special points you can use connected to the network computers.

Passengers of business class on long distance flights are served with three dishes meal. Flying through Europe with that class, get cold dish and warm dish, or three dishes, depending on flight’s duration. Passengers of economic class on long distance flights are served with warm dishes and, depending on flight’s duration, with another warm dish or a breakfast. On short routes they receive sandwiches with sweet or spicy snack. On most KLM flights there is served free alcohol. In both travel classes there is possibility of ordering special meal up until 24 or 36 hours before the departure. Special meal comprise of menu for kid, vegetarian dishes, meals according to medical treatment or in accordance with religion beliefs.

On board of KLM planes the carrier in all classes is providing passengers with audio or video system on their demand, that has interactive amusement, among others: world class films, TV programs, music, language course. System also allows sending messages and mails. One of the planes, Boeing 777-300ER, is equipped with WiFi, than can be used after the plane reaches given altitude.
