BAGGAGE
At Cyprus Airways, baggage and its weight depend on the class of the purchased air tickets. When traveling with the BASIC class, you can bring hand luggage with dimensions of 35 x 20 x 20 cm on board Cyprus Airways. On top of that, passengers can carry one piece of luggage with them that will travel in the baggage hold. The sum of its dimensions (length + width + height) must not exceed 203 cm, while the weight must be less than 10 kg.
In the FLEX Cyprus Airways class, hand luggage (dimensions and weight) does not change. In addition, however, you can carry a suitcase with dimensions of 55 x 40 x 20 cm and a weight not exceeding 10 kg. On the other hand, checked baggage may weigh up to 23 kg in this Cyprus Airways class. It is worth paying careful attention when preparing suitcases, since the carrier provides surcharges for exceeding the guidelines. You can also purchase the possibility of bringing checked-in baggage. The cost of this service depends on the time remaining until take-off from placement of the order.
PROHIBITED OBJECTS
As with other European airlines, Cyprus Airways prohibit certain items and substances. These include, among others, firearms, radioactive substances, poisons, infectious materials, compressed gases and corrosive substances. The list can be supplemented with new products at any time, so be sure to pay attention to this when buying plane tickets.
BOOKING CLASSES
At Cyprus Airways, booking classes are not as strongly differentiated as they are with other airlines. At Cyprus Airways, the economy class is divided into two variants, BASIC and FLEX. The first option is a basic economy class with no additional privileges, while in the second variant, the purchase of such flight tickets grants us the opportunity to bring an additional suitcase on board, and our checked baggage may have a greater weight. The FLEX variant gives passengers more options for recovering ticket costs in the event of cancellation of flights or other changes due to the fault of the airline as well as the passenger.
ONLINE CHECK-IN
At Cyprus Airways, you can complete online check-in 24 hours prior to departure. The last call to check in is three hours before the scheduled departure of the aircraft. Online check-in at Cyprus Airways involves entering your ID details and printing your boarding pass. You must report with this document and printout at the airport before departure. This will minimise the time spent at the airport before take-off of the aircraft.
FLEET
At Cyprus Airways, the fleet is based around the Airbus A319 aircraft produced by the European consortium. Cyprus Airways also offer airline tickets with the option of choosing a seat with extra space. These types of seats are located near the wings of the aircraft and in the first row. The carrier also offers a cargo transport service. It can be mail, special cargo, hazardous materials or other goods. In order to use this service, you must contact the airline ticket vendor in advance.
AIRPORT
Cyprus Airways is based in Larnaca International Airport, which is also the island’s largest port. It is marked with the LCA IATA code. The airline serves almost eight million passengers a year. The airport is situated 40 km from Nicosia and almost 70 km from Limassol. In turn, the distance to the city centre is only seven kilometres, but you cannot count on public transport. You will also not find a hotel at the airport, but there are ATMs, shops and fast food outlets here. There are also car rentals and this means of communication is chosen for traveling around the island most often.
