Substandard airline

I have traveled with this airline before, and their service was average. This time it was pretty bad service. For my destination flight I've paid $55 for an isle seat in hopes to get less crammed and get an easy exit, but it turned out to be a mistake; the person next to me was an overweight guy who occupied more than his own seat. He being aware of it suggested that I asked the attendant if I could sit in the row in front of us where there were "four" empty seats available. When I went to the bathroom, I asked the attendant who was a double size himself, if I could sit in any of the available seats, he rudely answered NO as if I was being out of line or rude myself. So, I flew the remaining 3-1/2-hour flight in an expensive crammed seat. The return flight was inefficient to say the least. The flight appeared to on time, but the ground crew at the airport gate decided to announce to all passengers as they were beginning to board, that those who would opt to give their carry for check-in in the cargo rather than taking it inside the plane's cabin could do so at no charge. This led to over twenty passengers to relinquish their luggage carry on to the crew as they were boarding the plane, effectively putting us 30 minutes behind schedule. The crew didn't seem to care about it. No apologies no explanations. the flight was crowded with not an inch to spare. Upon arrival to a transfer airport I was given hard time by an attendant for trying to bring my coffee inside, when I was allowed to do so in the first boarding plane, I ended up throwing it away. Because the plane was so crowded the attendants kept bumping on my feet as again I was sitting on the isle row. Again, no apology, no acknowledgement of any kind. I had to ask for some water for taking a medication, and the attendant appeared surprised upon my request, she hesitated and gave me about 1 ounce of water. So that was my experience for above coach seat trip of $ 749 = $ 55 for each seat times 2 because we transferred planes. I hope they didn't go broke for the once of water.

Horrible

Retraso de casi 6 hrs en Bogotá , sin darnos a los pasajeros que estábamos en tránsito ninguna información. Hasta la tripulación llego y tuvieron que esperar parados en el gate por más de una hora . Pésimo

Complete mess

I've traveled many times and never had a badly experience as I had with Avianca, they didn't even call to board in LAX. I will not travel with them again.
