    Larnaca
Larnaca is the third largest city in Cyprus, on the south-eastern coast of the island. It has around 51 thousand inhabitants and is an important administrative centre. Known in antiquity as Kition, it was one of the oldest Phoenician colonies. Worth visiting are the Church of St Lazarus, the Hala Sultan Tekke mosque and the ruins of Kition. Larnaca has a Mediterranean climate with mild winters and hot summers. The best time to visit is spring and autumn, when the temperature is pleasant.
