Marrakech
Marrakesh is a city in western Morocco, located at the foot of the High Atlas Mountains, at an altitude of about 460 meters above sea level. Home to about 1 million people, it was founded in the 11th century as a military camp of the Almoravids, and in the 12th century, the Almohads made it the capital of their empire. Today, it attracts tourists with its UNESCO-listed medina, the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa square, and the Majorelle Gardens. The climate is dry, with hot summers and mild winters. Spring or autumn are the best times to visit the city.
