Ulaanbaatar
Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, is situated in the central-eastern part of the country along the Tuul River. Surrounded by four mountain ranges, it is located at an altitude of about 1,350 meters above sea level. Home to about 1.145 million residents, it is the largest city in Mongolia. Ulaanbaatar's history dates back to 1639 when it was founded as a nomadic seat for religious leaders. The city offers a rich history and culture, blending tradition with modernity. The best time to visit is summer, when temperatures are around 20 °C.
